On August 30, Aarhus University is part of the annual Uni Food Day, which once again takes place online.

Uni Food Day is organized in collaboration between Aarhus University, University of Copenhagen, Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and Food & Bio Cluster Denmark, and it focuses on the current challenges in the food industry - and on how research can help solve them.

This year, three topics will be discussed: sustainable processing, side streams and taste and flavor, and speakers from Aarhus University will give presentations in the first two.

Milena Corredig from the Department of Food Science will explain the science behind food contact material for sustainable packaging, while Marija Banovic from the MAPP Centre will present the market demand for alternative proteins with an emphasis on seaweed.

In addition to this, there will be presentations from the other participating research institutions as well as the companies Arla Foods, CP Kelco and Lactosan.
